The Friday Women’s Lunch Group is back to meeting on UCG campus after 2+ long years of Covid imposed Zooming! We meet in Reimer Hall every Friday from noon to 1:00 PM and we welcome all UCG women- members, friends, friends of friends. Everyone is welcome to drop in occasionally, or frequently or however fits your schedule. After checking in with each other around the table, we enjoy some conversation wherever the current interests take us. We all have stories to tell, and we’d like to hear yours. Starting in May, we’re trying something new. We hope you’ll join us.
The First Friday of each month there will be an opportunity to share stories on a selected topic.
Friday, May 5 – Share a favorite or inspiring book, poem, or writing from a parent, teacher, or friend. Discussion led by Betsy Harris
Friday, June 2 – Share a story about your favorite food(s) or a memorable meal. Discussion led by Tricia Gregory
Friday, July 7 – Share the story of how you came to live in Gainesville and/or attend UCG. Discussion led by Barbara Kelleher
Friday, August 4 – Where were you when history happened – JFK shot, Moon landing, 9/11. Discussion led by Suzanne Huggard

I’m a long-time outlier of UCG. My main focus for almost 10 years now is as the coordinator of the Bikes 4 Vets project, where we rehab donated bikes and give them to vets who’ve been homeless. The VA does a decent job of housing vets but most vets don’t have cars, so bikes are critical for transportation needs, in addition to recreation for physical and mental health needs.
Our house is the headquarters for the Gainesville Cycling Club and my side of our garage has been converted to the bike repair shop for the Bikes 4 Vets project. We take all bikes as donations with our overflow going to the Repurpose Project. Our address is 5015 NW 19th Pl and you can drop off bikes and bike stuff at anytime, up near the garage doors.
My cell is 352-339-1920.
Thanks for your consideration.
Hi Dian,
If you an electronic version of a flyer or poster, we can post it at the church as well as in our weekly email under our greater community page. Thanks for all you do for vets.
Lisa
