February 8 – “Working with the Lac Courte Oreilles band of the Ojibwa nation” with Andy Bachmann.

Join us, as Andy Bachmann brings us up to date with his work with the Lac Courte Oreilles band of the Ojibwe nation, through his work with “The Good Life Camp.” Good Life Camp is a week long program they created for middle school youth from the reservation to provide cultural education through language, dance, and story while also having a blast at Camp Highlands. Andy has gained some interesting insights not just into Native culture, but the current state of affairs for Indigenous Nations across the country.

February 15 – Search Committee Update with the Search Committee.

The Search Committee for a settled minister welcomes you to learn about our process and our progress towards hiring a new minister. We hope that this information will keep you apprised of how the 14-member committee is working together to find the best path forward. We will share our findings and save a significant portion of this seminar for questions and answers. Because we are still in the initial stages of the process, we expect that your feedback will be essential in guiding our future efforts. The timeline for this search is expected to be at least one year in duration. At this point we are focused on gathering information to include in the UCG church profile that will be used to advertise this position.

February 22 – “Gee’s Bend and Me… Civil Rights and Quilts” with Larry Alsobrook.

Join us to hear Larry’s tale of his discovery and journey to repair an old quilt, and how that brought him to learn more about the Gee’s Bend quilters.
