March 1 – ICE in Alachua County: Join us to learn how ICE operates locally, and how our elected officials are responding to this challenge. A panel discussion with Mayor Harvey Ward, Alachua County Commissioner Anna Prizzia, Alachua County Sheriff Chad Scott, Alachua School Board member Sarah Rockwell, and Director of Rural Women’s Health Project, Veronica Robleto. Warren Goldstein will be the moderator. The panel is planned for 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and extended childcare will be available. Note: This seminar will not be livestreamed or posted on YouTube.
March 8 – “Entr’acte”: Join us in the Sanctuary to hear a sampling of UCG’s musicians performing a variety of short pieces from different musical genres. This will be coordinated by Ruth Saunders. If you would like to perform, please contact Ruth at ruthmsaunders123@gmail.com.
March 15 – “Art However Known”: If you do art, used to do art, want to do art, or just enjoy art, please join us! What helps us do art? What are the obstacles to doing art? And what is spiritual about art? UCG artists will lead this discussion and exploration of art and spirit.
March 22 – Sermon Response with Rev. Dr. Shelly Wilson: Join us to hear more from former UCG minister Shelly Wilson as we respond to the sermon and learn about what she’s been doing since leaving UCG.
March 29 – Update on Grace Marketplace: Darius Williams, the new CEO of Grace Marketplace, will be our guest speaker. He will provide an overview of GRACE Marketplace’s mission and the comprehensive services offered to individuals experiencing homelessness, including low-barrier shelter, meals, housing navigation, case management, and supportive services. He will also share how GRACE serves as both a place of immediate care and a pathway toward long-term stability and highlight meaningful volunteer opportunities for the community such as assisting in the kitchen and helping sort donated items.
