October 12 – Italian Pilgrimage with Andy Bachmann
When he retired from ministry at UCG, members collected a love offering for Andy Bachmann to embark on a pilgrimage of his choosing. Last year, Andy went to Italy to walk a portion of the Via Francignia through the Tuscan region of Italy. Come hear why Andy is so passionate about pilgrimage, what he learned on his journey, and how you too could incorporate pilgrimage into your spiritual journey. (He has some pretty fabulous pictures, too!)
October 19 – The UCC and Psychedelics with Rev. Molly Baskette, senior minister at First Church Berkeley UCC in Berkeley, CA.
The United Church of Christ is a leader among denominations in expanding cultural and spiritual perspectives, and supporting paths toward human healing. This boldness is core to our historic commitment to a Still-Speaking God. One of the languages God speaks is science. Another is personal revelation: how we personally encounter the Divine in our lives. Both are pertinent to the emerging psychedelic movement. Join a conversation with other UCC folk who are interested in talking about the psychedelic re-emergence: unpacking myths, tracking facts, and considering how God might be speaking through these new/old medicines. What role can these medicines play in spirituality and well-being, in a changing and challenging world? And what is the church’s place in this conversation?
October 26 – Art Show, no seminar
