Thank you for your generous support for those in our community facing hunger. If you forget to bring your donations or prefer to donate online, click here.

Sanctuary Foyer art – Please take time to enjoy the original art in the foyer featuring local artist Skip Snow, a retired biologist and member of Gainesville Fine Arts Association.

Help with Chair Setup – In preparation for the Town Hall, we need a few volunteers to help move Sanctuary chairs into a semi-circle.  Meet Dar and Zakara in the front row immediately following the service.

Sunday Seminar – We welcome Chelsea Bowlin and her team from Partnership for Strong Families. They are the lead child welfare agency in the area providing both foster care and adoption services. May is National Foster Care Month, and this seminar will provide information about the foster care crisis in Florida and answer questions about how we can help support this vulnerable population. Please come and learn more about this important issue, near and dear to many of our members’ hearts. Join us at 11:30 a.m. in Reimer Hall or via Zoom. Zoom meeting ID: 829 6457 0385 Passcode: 1624

Town Hall – The Lay Leadership and Ministers will hold a Church-wide Town Hall to discuss the staffing restructure, Sunday May 5 at 6:30 p.m. in the Sanctuary or by Zoom. More information is here. Please submit questions by Wednesday, May 1 to moderator@ucgainesville.org. If you need childcare, please RSVP to info@ucgainesville.org or call the office by 4:00 p.m. Friday, May 3.

Let’s Connect
Noodles and Doodles brought oodles of fun to our church last Sunday!  The youth group is deeply grateful to all who donated and purchased amazing art and enjoyed a wonderful meal together. We raised just over $5,000 for our summer work tour.  If you missed the event, there are still some pieces of art looking for new homes. You can peruse them in Reimer Hall during church office hours or this Sunday morning, they are yours for a donation in any amount to our Youth Work Tour.  Thank you for your support of our amazing Youth United!

Patience Please – Shanna Swiers will be on vacation from Friday, May 3 though Monday, May 13, returning Tuesday, May 14. Rev. Bromleigh McCleneghan will be away completing continuing education later this week and all of next week. Our interim support staff person, Dar Mikula, will be in the office 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. working on several projects and answering phones. We ask you to please be patient with email or voicemail responses, which may be delayed due to the limited staff.

UCG Supper Club – The last supper club of the year will take place on Saturday, May 18 at Jim and Lisa McElwee-White’s home on Kanapaha Prairie. Rather than being assigned a recipe, you will be assigned a category (appetizer, salad, side or dessert) and can bring whatever you wish. We also request that you bring your place settings and your own beverage so we only need to collect money to reimburse Jim for the meat he will barbecue (no charge for vegetarians). Please contact Anne Casella (annecasella@gmail.com, 256-5960) or Kimberly McCollough (kmccollough224@gmail.com, 378-8371) if you would like to participate. The deadline to sign up is Sunday, May 5.
