Welcome to Worship- Andy Bachmann

The Compact of the United Church of Gainesville – read by Rebecca Beachy, Daniel Webster, Dar Mikula and Talia Raymond

We join as a spiritual community in this compact,
To worship God, however known
to welcome into our church
those of differing understanding and theological opinion
to learn from our religious heritage, yet to grow
by seeking new dimensions of truth
to follow, even imperfectly, the way of Jesus
in personal involvement with each other, and,
strengthened by this bond,
to act in Christian concern for the welfare of all people.

The Welcome Table- with Mark Burlingame, trumpet, Brian Stevens, trombone, Alan Hill, bass
I’m gonna sit at the welcome table,
I’m gonna sit at the welcome table one of these days (Hallelujah!),
I’m gonna sit at the welcome table,
sit at the welcome table one of these days

I’m gonna feast on milk and honey…
I’m gonna tell God how you treat me…
All God’s children gonna eat together…

Welcome to United Tribes Worship!

Prayers of the People, and a Litany of Blessing for our Health Care Workers- Talia Raymond

Music – “The Peace of the Earth”
The peace of the earth be with you, the peace of the heavens too,
the peace of the rivers be with you, the peace of the oceans too
Deep peace, falling over you
God’s peace growing in you.

Reading – A poem written and read by Deon Winchester

Music-  “Embracement” by Babatunde Olatunji.
Do you hear the clarion call for all who can
For those willing and able to do all you can
Like Gideon’s men down but not out for the count
Be still and know that I am not tapping out
At the end of the tunnel do you see the light
What are we going to do, freeze, fawn, flight, or fight
Never going to give up on my family
Our community now needs you and me
Our sisters’ keepers, our brothers’ keepers
Or are we at home watching jeepers creepers
People are crying…loved ones no longer breathing
Lift up our heads to see the vultures circling
When we pray for healing while this healing we’re living
Grasping to life, gasping the breath of life
We won’t stop, we can’t stop, we won’t ever give up
So let us get up, stand up, step up, speak up
Step up, suit up, link up and we will rise up!
Everyday like a new day that’s dawning
This little light of ours will always be shining
Even when the sun is setting and night is coming
Sirius, my three sisters, the north star will also be shining
