Ash Wednesday

This year Ash Wednesday, which marks the beginning of the Lenten season, falls on February 17. We won’t be gathering for in-person worship, given that traditionally, our primary ritual act for the day involves touching the faces of others.  This day, however, is rife with meaning, and is a favorite for your ministers. There’s something about a pandemic, too, that renders it particularly appropriate that we dig into a holy day that reflects on our mortality.

Please join us, then, for a Virtch Church service beginning at noon, and for our drive-by ashes and supply pick up 4:30-6:30pm, in the parking lot. Come and receive ashes to self-administer off a Q-tip from a gloved minister, or simply receive a Lenten Devotional, as well as a bag of intentional items to guide your sacred time in this holy season. We will also be distributing bags for children with items that will be used in their Lenten sessions.
