Board of Business Update

We encourage everyone to keep up with their pledges to enable us to move through the summer with adequate cash flow.  Pledge and Overall Income continue on pace with overall expenses, but we will see the latter ramp up this fall.  We realize that this year has been challenging for many, while others have been able to be especially generous.  The Board is grateful for your on-going financial support: in late August you can also contribute via your Time and Talent:  It takes a Village to keep UCG financially sustainable and spiritually alive.

Monitoring the current budget and preparing the next one seems to be a year-round activity.  We continue to interact with the Compensation Committee to determine salaries and benefits for our talented ministers and staff.  These numbers will be incorporated in our Challenge Budget for this autumn.  Everyone has had to learn new skills while maintaining high quality programs during the pandemic.  A Task Force is already working on the Stewardship/Enlistment Campaign for our 2022 budget.  That will be one of the most consequential campaigns undertaken at UCG as we emerge from our cocoons.  The Board of Business is committed to maintaining UCG’s financial sustainability so the worship services, programs, and outreach activities can continue to deepen our compassion and lift our spirits.  – Sanford Berg, Co-Chair, Board of Business

The Church office was grateful to receive a recent gift to the capital reserve fund from an anonymous donor. This generous gift feels like a vote of confidence in our future as a congregation, especially after this difficult pandemic year.
