May 1 – UCG member Gail Johnson recently spent most of a month traveling through Africa, with stops in Benin, Ghana, and Senegal. Gail met with royal delegations and elected officials, visited old friends, and toured organic farming communities established by FAMU grads. Her journey was inspiring and groundbreaking, and she will share her experiences and reflections with us.
May 8 – Global Health Comes Home – Come learn about an innovative approach to extend healthcare to some of the most marginalized children globally. Eric Nelson will present an initiative called MotoMeds that uses telemedicine and motorcycles in the mountains of Haiti to over come access barriers and avert pediatric emergencies. MotoMeds.org
May 15 – “The Stupidization of America” Join Fletcher Crowe as he looks at the most recent works of Jonathan Haidt, author of, “Coddling of the American Mind,” and a recent article that discusses the great divide in our American culture in today’s highly divisive and highly charged climate.
May 22 – Confirmation Sunday and our Spring Congregational Meeting!
