The Vinery – May 2022

Our Vinery lead team continues to do some behind the scenes work as we learn a new framework for engaging our various campus neighbor through participation in online “didactics.” Judy has also increased the number of young adult lunches she’s held in recent months. Two questions in particular guide our next steps. First, what is the story we can tell (each of us, and as a lead team, and eventually as a congregation) about why we are compelled or otherwise called to engage more fully with those campus communities?  What sparks our imaginations and passions? What past experiences contribute to our excitement and sense of calling to this work?  And, secondly, “How can we partner with our institutional neighbors to address intersectional challenges?”

Some other ministries have engaged campus hunger, shortages of affordable or intentional housing options, or building inclusive spaces. What particular resources does UCG have to share? Where can we learn about the particular needs of our neighboring campus communities? If these questions spark your interest, don’t hesitate to reach out to Bromleigh, Judy Parsons, or Emily Anderton, our Vinery Lead Team.
