Charles Boisseau grew up Catholic in Cincinnati, Ohio, and says he loved the ritual of it. However, he found later in his life that Catholicism no longer fit. He joined UCG seeking a deeper, closer relationship with God and help to find his greater purpose. Here, he says, he has found warm, smart, friendly people on their own path. Charles is an editor at UF and enjoys golf, writing, reading, running, and kayaking. Charles has an adult daughter, UCG member Kate Boisseau, and a granddaughter, Aoife.

 

Karin Fields was affiliated with many churches previously, including Methodist, Presbyterian, Non-Denominational, and Episcopalian.  She is seeking a community and joined UCG because she likes the inclusivity here, yet it still feels like church to her. Karin is a therapist at Lucent Collaborative Services and has three children: Josh 14, Lianna 13, and KJ 11.

 

Martha Miller was baptized in the UMC church as an infant and continued to be active in church growing up. She joined UCG seeking more community and friends and appreciates the loving and accepting congregation and ministries she finds here. Martha is a special education teacher at Gainesville High School and says she has a servant’s heart and loves helping people. Martha has three children: Naomi 12, Benjamin 10, and Anders 6. In her spare time, she enjoys yoga, bicycling, gardening, and cooking.

 

After being raised Baptist, Rhonda Riley left the church at age 14. She joined UCG seeking a spiritual community committed to social justice and likes the openness she finds here. Rhonda is a freelance writer who enjoys gardening and reading and spending time with her husband, Doran Oster. (Not Pictured)

 

Wendi Wheeler was raised in the Episcopal church and most recently was a member of a UCC church in Orwigsburg, PA.  She joined UCG seeking community and says she likes the diversity of thought she finds here. She also looks forward to participating in the social justice outreach here.  Wendi is a retired HR director who spends her time kayaking, biking and reading.
