For the past three years, we have been working with local farms through our farmers markets to raise awareness and financial support for our Guatemalan Women’s Garden project through Growing Hope Globally. Our annual push is coming to an end, and we hope that you will join our Eat Local Grow Hope Global Break-Fast potluck celebration and fundraiser on May 4 at 6 PM.
Through Eat Local Grow Hope Global we are acting together to ensure access to local food. We are giving together to improve access to food for our global neighbors in Guatemala. More information is available here. And, we are growing hope together as we put compassion into action. This is how our global outreach works:
- Join us in fasting “however known” from after lunch on Wednesday, May 3rd until 6 PM on Thursday.
- Celebrate that we are acting together with local farmers and food providers to ensure access to local food.
- Celebrate that we are giving together to improve access to food for our global neighbors in Guatemala. And we are growing hope together as we put compassion into action.
- And support our program through your generous donations!
And of course, please support our LOCAL food partners by shopping at their booths at the Grove Street Market on Mondays, Heartwood Market on Thursdays or the Haile Farmers Market on Saturdays. This year, our partner farms are: Angeles Farm, Bevis Farm, Fisher Farms, Frog Song Organics, Land of Flowers, The Salty Cow, Nicoya Farm, Swallowtail Farm, The Vine Bakery, Fruitful Earth Farms, The Old Fashioned Farmstead, Sweet Southern Bees, and Dragonfly Trace Farm.
If you would like to support our project, but don’t know if you can attend our Break-Fast Supper, Click here to access a secure opportunity to donate to UCG for this project. This is UCG’s only international outreach project. Eat Local Grow Hope Global is a Compassion in Action project.
Thank you for your support!
