Middle School Together & Youth United Happenings for May 2023

The nearly 30-students in grades 6-9 who have spent the last nine months in Our Whole Lives (OWL) classes finished with a wonderful overnight on April 28-29. Many thanks to all our parents and facilitators, especially Jeremy Archer, Gade Duerkson, Tami Herchel, Bromleigh McCleneghan, Angel McGee, Talia Raymond and Ezra Stone for taking this journey with our kids. And kudos to the kids for showing up to each session with curiosity and good will, bringing their whole selves to learn and grow in community about this important part of our lives!

Our official program year concludes on May 14, when Middle School Together and Youth United join up for our Second Sunday dinner and program, from 5:30-7pm.

Graduate Sunday on May 21 will feature music chosen and performed by the youth, and words of witness from our graduating high school seniors. It’s always a morning of laughter and tears as we look back at wonderful memories and celebrate the joy that is to come in the next stage of these teens’ lives. Contact Rev. Talia if you’d like to participate!

Our youth Work Tour to West Virginia is just around the corner! If you would like to support us, we have one final fundraiser.

Trunk Treasures will be held at First Magnitude on Sunday, May 21 from 3-6 p.m. Come and shop our first mobile rummage sale, or sign up in advance with Tami Herchel to bring donated items. We also have a few teal insulated coffee mugs left for purchase.

Work Tour Participants and their caregivers will have two final meetings: one at a TBD date and time following the Trunk Treasures fundraiser and one on June 4 at 11:15am in the UCG Youth Room.
