At our May congregational meeting, our Creation Care and Climate Justice Task Force presented a motion to the congregation, asking for approval to seek designation as a Creation Justice Church in the United Church of Christ. The motion, of course, passed with enthusiastic and unanimous support. Following that, representatives of the task force completed an application to the denomination which detailed our congregation’s efforts in education and action over the last year. We are happy to report that our application was successful, and many were gathered as we celebrated this new status in the Sunday service on August 26. Jim Harper and other members of the team presented our official banner from the Climate Justice Ministry of the UCC.
