Some call them the “dog days,” others celebrate the notion of summer’s “lazy, hazy, crazy days,” but however they hit you, right now most days are . . . hot. Some of us are fortunate enough to be able to take life a little easier. Others of us scramble to cover half a hundred things that seem even busier this year. And whether summer is for us a slow down or a scramble, it’s not unusual for some things to fall off the plate. Sometimes it’s stuff that we count on being there, just maybe it’s not calling for our attention right now. Like (you knew this was coming) . . .like UCG’s ongoing expenses – the cost of AC and lights and grounds care and the incredible staff who keep the UCG ship on course.
* If you haven’t looked lately to see if you’re up to date on your pledge, now would be a great time to check.
* If you haven’t thought about what happens to UCG’s income when we’re not passing the weekly offering plate, well, it’s simple. There’s a shortfall from what we’d counted on to keep the budget balanced. And, yes – I’m so glad you asked! – if you’d like to help make up the difference, you can do so by CLICKING HERE.
We’ll be back next month with more info about the planning process for the 2022 budget and the Stewardship campaign that will enlist all our commitment for UCG’s future. Meanwhile friends, please try to stay cool, keep dry, and know that you are an essential and valued part of the UCG community.
