As I write this, it looks like our budget for 2022 is going to end the year with income and expenditures balanced. A sincere “Thank You” to all who have helped us get to this point with your pledges and gifts. Without your faithful support, UCG could not exist.
2022 saw the beginning of the Buildings and Grounds Subcommittee of BoB and the results were almost immediate. We completed the re-roofing of the West Campus, updated and improved the playground, trimmed several trees that were in desperate need of trimming, and worked with the City of Alachua to grind down several areas of our sidewalk to make it a safer place to walk, to name just a few accomplishments. While there is still major work to be done to address many years of deferred maintenance, the work we accomplished in 2022 was a great start.
In May the Congregational Meeting, we asked for approval of a $99,000 loan from Cornerstone Ministries, an arm of the United Church of Christ. The loan has closed and the funds were distributed to UCG in December.
Finally, if you have not already done so, please send your pledge card to Catherine Cake at the church. Your gifts make the work of UCG possible and with everyone pitching in to help, we will be able to continue to have a positive impact on our members, and the impact for good in our community.
