Buildings and Grounds is happy to report that Dave Sanders has joined our group, bringing his electrical expertise. We are delighted to have him. Buildings and Grounds folks have been busy. We completed some important maintenance work – pressure washing throughout the campus, caulking windows, some general repairs, not to mention getting all the rat damage repairs done. We are awaiting another contractor for some more involved woodwork repair.
We had the semi-annual servicing of the 14 HVAC units and (fingers crossed!) all is well in that arena for the present time.
We have met with The Green House Nursery folks, who have given us a quote for lowering the grade in the courtyard and installing drains, as well as lowering the grade in the retention ponds. We are working with Andy Kaplan to redesign the bathrooms in the education wing to be accessible to all. And he is coming up with a design for upgrading our kitchen.
We have had two football games to try out the football parking cordoning project and with a few tweaks, it seems to be working well. Kudos again to everyone who installed the system and to Doug Kiker and his weekly helpers for putting it up and taking it down for each game. We’re doing our best to protect our sidewalks and retention ponds.
Maybe next month we’ll have our first report of the savings as a result of the solar system!
