United Church of Gainesville is currently hiring one Lead Sunday school teacher. 

Here is the link to the Lead Teacher position. The Church Council approved the reconfiguration of the children’s ministry staff at their July meeting, within current budget constraints.

Employing Lead Teachers is an increasingly widespread practice in congregations like ours and helps enhance communication, consistency, and connection to the theology and message. Program leaders are able to spend less time finding volunteers, and more time developing engaging lessons.

This position serves for ten months at $15 an hour for 5 hours per week. The job requirements include attendance at a weekly group meeting led by Rev. Talia for theological study, creative lesson planning, resourcing, and debriefing. This time together allows for deeper connection with the material and other adult leaders, and the consistency of paid teachers allows the children’s connection to the material and their leaders to grow as well.  We are hiring one Lead Teachers; one for a pre-confirmation group with our 6-7th graders.
