Covid and its ongoing variants are persistent. People are still getting infected and case numbers remain at orange zone levels, although symptoms appear to be milder. Every week, our prayer concerns include members or friends who have tested positive.

The Covid Advisory Team has now moved into an Endemic Phase and have created sound guidelines for the ministers and congregation to follow. Covid Team members Allan March and Alan Keitt continue to provide weekly case information to the ministers and the congregation via Sunday bulletins and the weekly e-vents newsletter. Ministers, staff, and leadership will use this information as well as the expertise of individual members of the Covid team as necessary when planning worship, other events and gatherings, or in the case of new scenarios that arise.

The congregation will continue to receive clear communications about UCG’s response to the endemic and any actions that need to be taken (for example: the wearing of masks). The Covid Team will remain available as an on-call entity in case a coronavirus-related situation arises that needs group input or if we are otherwise asked to reconvene for any relevant reason.
