Food 4 Kids Update

I am very pleased to tell you that the planning for another F4Ks year at Rawlings Elementary School is under way. All of the volunteers are happy that we were able to complete the program last year.

Historically, we have always fed a large group of students but this last year it was the largest ever. We sent home food for 30 weeks to 160 children who were learning on site and virtually. Each child received weekly 7 modest meals, fruit and snacks. We totaled 33,600 meals for the year.

F4Ks has always been lucky to have your generous financial support. This truly is your program. Because of Anne Casella, last year we received a grant from the Children’s Trust. We are now waiting to hear about another grant from the Community Agency Partnership for Poverty Reduction Programs, that Jess Archer is spear heading with help from Catherine Cake, Anne Casella and Sallie Maxwell. In our 11th year, I am inviting you once again, to help with whatever financial support you can share. In the past, we asked for a donation of $200, but because we are hoping to get the new grant, we think that $150 will be what we will need. I guess if we don’t get the grant, you will probably be hearing from me again in January.

Thank you again for your tremendous support to help the neediest in our community. You know, if it wasn’t for you this wouldn’t be happening. The best to everyone and hoping that we all stay safe. Reisa George
