Help Needed: Masked Grinners and Elbow Bumpers Unite!

The Coronavirus Advisory Team is looking for a couple more people willing to commit to one Sunday a month in April during which you will (1) Smile lovingly from behind your mask and (2) Greet UCG members with your best elbow bump as we continue to gather in the Courtyard for Worship. A special thanks to those who have volunteered thus far!

This will involve a new take on Ushers/Greeters for the interim. We’re looking for people willing to model best pandemic behaviors and ensure that everyone in attendance follows accordingly. The guidelines are well-practiced by now: masks, clean hands, stay six feet apart, greet with an elbow bump instead of a hug, and stay away from gatherings if you’re feeling any symptoms. The Event Monitor duties are simple (2 hour commitment): (1) Arrive at UCG at the time you agreed to. (2) Meet others in your monitor group and review guidelines/responsibilities. (3) Set up for the service and locate/inventory the supplies. (4) Greet members: ask 3 screening questions. Help practice physical distancing if a line forms. If answers to questions are affirmative, lead members to reserved seats. (5) At conclusion of service, assist attendees in exiting in appropriately distanced manner. (6) Help with clean up.

New to participatory roles at UCG? This is a short-term commitment. Help us get through April and, if you enjoy the contribution, join us for a longer term! Email Dar Mikula at denalidar@gmail.com or call (352)359-4041 and we can have a conversation about your role as an Event Monitor. Whether you decide to volunteer at this time or not, thank you for reading this far and thank you for being a member of UCG!
