Mar. 7“Why do evangelicals support Trump presented by Dr. David Hackett, Professor of Religion at UF and UCG member.  Among academics who study evangelicals, the consensus reason for this, among academics who study it, is that this is a white, nationalist movement that legitimates itself through a willing contemporary dominant corruption of evangelical Christianity. Why so many believe that the election was “rigged”, for example,  has nothing to do with reasoned arguments and everything to do with the fears of a large and embattled white, nationalist, evangelical minority. John Harvey will host.

Mar . 14Communication, Part II – Mary Aplin will host a second Seminar on Communication with Paul Witte, the regional coordinator of Braver Angels speaking  about  guidelines & techniques for, and positive effects of, civil discourse and techniques for Reunification.

Mar. 21 – “However Known” – Our UCG Compact calls us to follow the way of Jesus, while worshipping God ‘however known.’  Andy Bachmann and Maureen Killoran will explore how grounding ourselves in our Compact can empower us to represent an effective alternative to the current message of the Christian Right.

Mar. 28 – “Our Enduring Fascination with the Afterlife” – with Larry Reimer – We will look at our highest hopes and deepest doubts about what happens after we die, explore some intriguing visions of what might be, and Larry will offer a roadmap of what makes sense to him of an image of eternity.
