Join us this month for our Sunday Seminars in Reimer Hall or on Zoom. Meeting ID: 829 6457 0385 Passcode: 1624. See the offerings below:
May 7th – Your Gut Microbiome, Health, and Emotional Wellbeing – People are composed of equal numbers of human cells and bacterial cells with intermingling activities. We co-evolved to be “meta organisms” whose diet and behaviors alter our microbiome, which in turn steers medical and emotional states such as cardiovascular disease, depression, and anxiety. Even certain COVID-19 symptoms result from virus disruption of the gut microbiome. Bruce Stevens, UF College of Medicine professor emeritus and UCG member will discuss the gut microbiome including recent human studies from his own lab.
May 14th – The Capital Campaign Committee wants to hear your opinion!
Our team was formed to consider if UCG needs a fundraising campaign to address critical infrastructure needs and projects which support the church’s missions. Join us on May 14th to ask questions and share thoughts about whether we should launch this important financial endeavor. We will share the committee’s goals, process, and next steps, as well as the results from the chalk talk and survey which helped to focus our work.
May 21 – No Seminar -Congregational Meeting
May 28 – TRANSITION TEAM Where Do We Go From Here? On Sunday, May 28th at 11:15 join the Transition Team for the first of several congregation-wide discussions about important questions facing UCG following Rev. Andy Bachmann’s retirement. What are the core aspects of our mission and purpose that speak to you? What questions are important to you? We need your input as we look to the future of our church.
