We Welcome our Newest UCG Members!
Van Harmony was raised Southern Baptist but today has knowledge on a range of different religious beliefs and practices and leans mostly toward gnostic. He joins UCG seeking community and guidance as he navigates his life, especially his 20’s. Van likes that all people are welcome at UCG, not just “allowed” to be here and looks forward to serving on the Open & Affirming Committee. Van enjoys music, photography, writing and crochet and has his own business “Van the Man’s Crochet Stand.”
Dave Kramek grew up in the Catholic Church and then attended the Unitarian Universalist church for 35 years. He and his spouse Mary moved to Gainesville last October and began visiting UCG then. Dave appreciates that UCG is welcoming for all and is seeking a sense of community here. He is a retired middle school principal who enjoys kayaking, biking, swimming, and gardening.
Mary Kramek was raised Catholic, has explored numerous world religions, and was part if the Unitarian church for 35 years. She believes there is truth in every religion. Mary joins UCG looking for a spiritual connection grounded in loving. She is looking forward to getting to know people through our small groups and social justice committee. Mary retired as a school psychologist and now spends time gardening, kayaking, and swimming. Mary and Dave have two grown children, Hope and Jon.
Having a mostly secular or Unitarian background, Glenn Mans says he also had weekly discussions with Jehovah’s Witness for more than two years. He joins UCG seeking spiritual growth, knowledge, and fellowship and appreciates the perspective here that no one theology or group has all the answers. Glenn retired from FDOT and now spends time doing yard work, fishing, and visiting his grandkids. He and his wife Judy have two grown children, Jeffrey and Robert.
Judy Mans has lived in Gainesville for 53 years and previously attended the Methodist Church. She was introduced to UCG by a friend and likes the authenticity and welcome here. She joins seeking to grow in faith and fellowship. Judy is a retired Curriculum Assistant who worked at Norton Elementary for 25 years. She enjoys painting, gardening, photography, and horseback riding.
