PPP Subcommittee Update

The PPP Subcommittee met on July 13 after the July 6 meeting had to be cancelled due to Tropical Storm Elsa. The subcommittee took time to get to know one another better and to agree on a set of guidelines for communication and decision-making. Our next meeting will be July 27. At that meeting, each subcommittee member will present a “dream list” of projects on which to allocate the funds in question. In most cases, the subcommittee members have reached out to the boards and committees they represent for input for their lists. In some cases, the subcommittee members felt they already had enough input. The subcommittee also will get input on possible projects from the ministers and staff.  These “dream lists” and the rationale behind them will be discussed and a consensus will be developed on the timeline for prioritizing projects for inclusion in the final plan for use of funds. Although each subcommittee member represents one area of the congregation and UCG’s ministries, there is also agreement to strive toward developing a final plan for use of funds that is in line with the overall values of UCG.
