The Racial Justice Committee (RJC) had an excellent turnout at our banned books event on October 8. Twenty people have signed up to read a banned book and join in a discussion about the books, which will be held in early November. If you would like to participate, contact Jessica Elkins.

RJC is thinking ahead to January and the Martin Luther King Day march. We are hoping that many will join us on January 15, marching from Depot Park to the MLK Center. We’ll be selling “Black Lives Matter” t-shirts in late November and December in preparation for this.

Many of us plan to attend the upcoming opera “The Life and Times of Malcolm X” on November 18. It will be live-streamed from the Metropolitan Opera in New York to the Regal Butler Theater. Join us! More information is available here.
