Welcome and Opening

Welcome – Fred Gregory

Opening Song – “Turn, Turn, Turn” by Pete Seeger, based on Ecclesiastes

Refrain
To Everything (Turn, Turn, Turn)
There is a season (Turn, Turn, Turn)
And a time for every purpose, under Heaven

A time to be born, a time to die
A time to plant, a time to reap A time to kill, a time to heal
A time to laugh, a time to weep (Refrain)

A time to build up, a time to break down
A time to dance, a time to mourn
A time to cast away stones, a time to gather stones together (Refrain)

A time of love, a time of hate
A time of war, a time of peace
A time you may embrace, a time to refrain from embracing (Refrain)

A time to gain, a time to lose
A time to rend, a time to sew
A time to love, a time to hate
A time for peace, I swear it’s not too late (Refrain)

Time with Children – Waiting is Not Easy! by Mo Willems – read by Lisa, Alexandra, and Aubrey Ingram

Scripture, Special Music, and Prayers

Scripture – The Parable of the Good Samaritan, Luke 10:25-37

Special Music – “Time of Your Life” by Green Day and “Stand by Me” by Ben E. King, performed by the Ukulele Club of Gainesville

“Time of Your Life”:

Another turning point
A fork stuck in the road
Time grabs you by the wrist
Directs you where to go

So make the best of this test
And don’t ask why I
t’s not a question
But a lesson learned in time

Refrain:
It’s something unpredictable
But in the end it’s right
I hope you had the time of your life

So take the photographs
And still frames in your mind
Hang it on a shelf In good health and good time
Tattoos of memories
And dead skin on trial
For what it’s worth It was worth all the while
(Refrain x3)

“Stand by Me”

When the night has come
And the land is dark
And the moon is the only light we’ll see
No I won’t be afraid
No, I won’t be afraid
Just as long as you stand, stand by me

So darlin’, darlin’
Stand by me, oh stand by me
Oh stand, stand by me
Stand by me

If the sky that we look upon
Should tumble and fall
Or the mountain should crumble to the sea
I won’t cry, I won’t cry
No, I won’t shed a tear
Just as long as you stand, stand by me

And darlin’, darlin’
Stand by me, oh stand by me
Oh stand, stand by me
Stand by me

And darlin’, darlin’
Stand by me, oh stand by me
Oh stand, stand by me
Stand by me

Darlin’, darlin’
Stand by me, oh stand by me
Won’t you stand now?
Stand by me…

Sunday Seminars – Join us this morning!

Sunday Seminar at 11:15am-  “Experiencing God in Nature” with John Harvey. When asked when one feels the presence of God, many people report it is most often when they are in nature. A major way God’s loving presence nourishes our souls is through the beauty and power of nature. This seminar will consider biblical passages about God communicating through nature and focus on the importance of nature in Celtic spirituality and how we might view God in nature. In discussing the Celtic tradition, J. Philip Newell wrote “God is seen as Life within all life and not just as the Creator who set life in motion from afar.” Join here

Sunday Seminar at 12:30pm – Holy Zoom: A Sacred Meeting of Minds & Souls –Fred Gregory and Shelby Hall will be available on our Zoom account to talk and share. They’ll be prepared to talk about the online worship experience, but with no set agenda other than hoping to see your faces and have a chance to touch base. Join here.
