Welcome, Reading, and Song

Reading – Offered by Madeline Davidson
“I was taught that the world had a lot of problems; that I could struggle and change them; that intellectual and material gifts brought the privilege and responsibility of sharing with others less fortunate; and that service is the rent each of us pays for living — the very purpose of life and not something you do in your spare time or after you have reached your personal goals.”
― Marian Wright Edelman

Song – “We Are One in the Spirit”
We are one in the Spirit, we are one in the Lord
We are one in the Spirit, we are one in the Lord
And we pray that all unity will one day be restored

And they’ll know we’re God’s people by our love, by our love
Yes, they’ll know we’re God’s people by our love

We will walk with each other, we will walk hand in hand
We will walk with each other, we will walk hand in hand
And together we’ll spread the news that God is in our land

And they’ll know we’re God’s people by our love, by our love
Yes, they’ll know we’re God’s people by our love.
