SENIOR SLIDESHOW

A PARTING GIFT AND A PARTING BLESSING FOR OUR GRADUATING SENIORS

CLOSING SONG  – “Now in the Days of Youth”  #350

Now in the days of youth, when life is filled with choice,
when hope and doubt touch every hour, when all thoughts find a voice,
We turn, O God, to you for guidance and for grace.
In all our days, in all our ways, help us to seek your face.

Teach us to love in truth, to give and to receive,
With visions of a better world, with all that we believe;
To seek another’s good, to honor what is right,
To let our will and our desire be held in holy light.

Teacher, Creator, God, enfold us in your arms;
Be with us as we try our wings, and keep us safe from harm.
All good and perfect gifts come to us from your hand.
O help us use them carefully and live by love’s command.

Judah Bachmann is graduating high school after a year of dual enrollment and will be attending Florida State University. He plans on double majoring in studio art and political science and hopes to continue learning languages through involvement in clubs at FSU.

Tesslyn Dahl graduated from Gainesville High School in the Cambridge Program. She will be attending the University of Florida and plans on majoring in health sciences on a pre-med track.

James Dickens

Joe Frenchman

Jhett Hill is graduating from Buchholz High School / Academy of Entrepreneurship with an AP Capstone Diploma. He will be attending Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN – “Anchor Down!” – in the fall as a Chancellor’s Scholar and plans to major in Environmental Sociology / Environmental Sciences. He intends to learn much about conservation, sustainability and policy (along with all other Nashville relevant university-life teachings) and do a summer abroad in New Zealand. He intends to go to Law School for post-grad to pursue Conservation / Environmental Law as my ultimate profession. The blessing that is UCG infused opportunities of service and reflection into my childhood that would never have been possible outside of this community.

Eden Ivines: Though having to take a semester off due to thyroid cancer, he is only a few weeks behind for his graduation date. He will continue to finish his classes. After that he is going to take a year off to figure out what he wants to do with his life. Right now phlebotomy sounds like fun.

Anja Julian is graduating from Eastside High School, and will attend the University of Florida. She plans to study either disease ecology, or the history of disease.

Xander Kiker is graduating from Gainesville High School. He will be attending Santa Fe College in the fall with plans to become a GIS analyst.

Jillian Provost is graduating from the Eastside High School IB Program. In the fall, she will attend Rollins College where she plans to major in marine biology.

Ian Ragsdale is graduating from Gainesville High School Cambridge Program. In the fall, he will attend Florida State University where he plans to major in electrical engineering, journalism, or whatever else seems interesting.

Avery Sperbeck is graduating from the Gainesville High School Cambridge Program.  He will attend the University of Florida with a major in Finance.

Shelby Hall, our Member in Discernment, graduated on May 14 with a Master of Divinity from Candler School of Theology at Emory University. She specialized in two areas, Chaplaincy and Society & Personality. Following graduation, she will be working as a Resident Chaplain at Emory University Hospital at Wesley Woods, focusing on geriatric care and mental health chaplaincy.

Here are the UCG friends celebrating a birthday this week.

Announcements

The UCG Office is now open Monday – Friday, from 9am to 4pm. You’ll be most likely to find a minister in the office in the mornings, before school pick-up. If you need to speak to someone about something in particular, or at some length, it is always wise to set up an appointment to come in. We will still be asking everyone to mask when they come in.

Greeters for UCG’s Upcoming Services – Are you available to smile lovingly from behind your mask and greet UCG members with your best elbow bump? We need your help extending throughout the month of June. Click here for more information or email Dar Mikula. Thank you for your help with this important job!

Please help keep our church finances healthy while you stay healthy!  Please consider donating online. To GIVE,  click here  to make a one-time donation to UCG -or- to set up a recurring donation schedule via your bank account or credit card. Our budgeted (anticipated) amount of Plate Income for 2021 is $36,000, so we rely on the weekly passing of the plate.  Here  is a video on how to use Shelby Giving.  Thank you for your support!
