Silly Storytelling – “The Three Pigs” YU and MST

Birthdays and Prayers of the People

Sung Response: “All this Joy, All this Sorrow”

All this joy, all this sorrow, all this promise, all this pain,
Such is life, such is being, such is Spirit, such is love.

Sing of joy, sing of sorrow, sing of promise, sing of pain,
Such is life, such is being, such is Spirit, such is love.

World of joy, world of sorrow, world of promise, world of pain,
Such is life, such is being, such is Spirit, such is love.

All is joy, all is sorrow, all is promise, all is pain,
Such is life, such is being, such is Spirit, such is love.

A Reading of Psalm 23

Reflection – Rev. Bromleigh McCleneghan

Special Music and Offertory – “At This Table” by Idina Menzel and Jonas Myrin, led by Rebecca Vincent with the Hogtown Pickers

At this table, everyone is welcome
At this table, everyone is seen
At this table, everybody matters
No one falls between
At this table, you can say whatever
At this table, you can speak your mind
At this table, everything’s forgiven
There’s enough for everyone
So come as you are
Remember that the door is always open
Yes, come as you are
The perfect gift that you could bring is your heart
So come, come as you are
At this table, there will be no judgement
At this table, mercy has a seat
At this table, we’re all sons and daughters
There’s no place I’d rather be
So come as you are
Remember that the door is always open
Come as you are
The perfect gift that you could bring is your heart
Come, come as you are
Come as you are, oh
At this table, everyone is welcome
At this table, everybody cares
At this table, everybody matters
So come, pull up a chair

Communion

Rev. Bromleigh: God, we come to your table of Mystery, holding the heartbreaking and the hopeful in the same handful. We gather to remember your teaching, the example you set at your table of welcome.

Rev. Talia: In this meal, we are poured out for one another, in care and concern, sharing the graces and gifts that we bring to this sacred place, with one another, around life’s great feast of bounty.

Rev. Andy: So, come to these tables set before you,

Rev. Bromleigh: Come not because you must but because you may.

Rev. Talia: Come from the north and the south, the east and the west, knowing that you are and forever will be welcomed at this table,

Rev. Andy: And come to be broken open, to be poured out, and to be loved just as you are, and to love in return as your greatest gift to God and to one another.

ALL: Let us come to the table in remembrance and in love. Let the feast begin!

Communion Music by Nan Ryan and Mark Burlingame

Closing Song – “Welcome Table,” led by the Hogtown Pickers

I’m gonna sit at the welcome table
I’m gonna sit at the welcome table one of these days, (Hallelujah!)
I’m gonna sit at the welcome table, sit at the welcome table one of these days!
I’m gonna feast on milk and honey…
I’m gonna tell God how you treat me…
All God’s children gonna sit together…

Benediction/Picnic Blessing – “Litany of the Dinner Bell”

Talia: From before the dawn of time to beyond the sunset of days,

ALL: The Creating Spirit rings like a dinner bell, calling everything to the banquet of being.

Bromleigh: And in this moment, like all moments, the bell is ringing.

ALL: It’s the welcome call to join the picnic of abundant living.

Andy: We are here because, for today…

ALL: We have heard the bell and gladly accept the invitation to the table.

Alleluia

Welcome to Julia Ranier, Director of Children’s Ministries!

Hey there!

My name is Julia Rainer. I wanted to start this off by saying all the things I do, and the credentials I have that make me fit to be the new Director of Children’s Ministries. But before that, I want to really tell you about myself. I am a lover of all things that represent love. I love weddings, crafting, childbirth, and children. Because of what I love, life has led me to have a degree in Early Childhood Education, my certification as a childbirth educator and labor/ postpartum doula, and more than 12 years of experience working with children. I also love decorating and I am pretty crafty and creative. I am a mother. I have three daughters at home that I proudly call my Queendom. I am a new wife. I am also the owner of a doula business called Create Space. I have worked in the children’s ministry for years. I feel so blessed to be in a position to know your children and be a part of the team here at UC Gainesville.  I cannot wait to meet you all and learn about you and your families.
