The UCG Sunday Seminar Committee is proud to announce a line-up of seminars we are certain you will enjoy. Most seminars are in-person and livestreamed on Sundays at 10:30am on YouTube
January 2 – Happy New Year: Reviewing the Past and Anticipating the Future – Sunday Seminar will be an in-person event with participants sharing their thoughts about the challenges and graces of the past year and hopes for the new year.
January 9 – Sabbatical Reflections with Andy Bachmann – Join us as Andy Bachmann shares an overview and insights gained from his time in Ireland on his sabbatical. The seminar will be held in-person and broadcast live on You-Tube.
January 16 – Martin Luther King’s World House in a Changing Climate – Martin Luther King Jr. had a vision about a World House. Stanford University’s King Institute developed a curriculum to plan building King’s World House. Join in a discussion to identify actions we can take to move Gainesville towards a more diverse, inclusive, and loving World House. For example, we could help organize a day of activities with other faith communities and play soccer, picnic, or sing songs of peace. Helen Warren, from the Racial Justice Committee, will facilitate the discussion.
January 23 – Meet Rachel Kirk, Ordained Today at UCG – Rachel has graciously agreed to be interviewed on the day of her ordination at UCG. Rachel grew up in UCG, completed her Master of Divinity at Vanderbilt Divinity School and is now serving as Pastor for Community and Mission at St. John United Church of Christ in Freeport, Illinois.
January 30 – Winter Congregational Meeting, no seminar
