As our young adult group continues to meet, and our group of college and university faculty and staff continues to find its way, your Vinery lead team has been attending online learning sessions on “human-centered design thinking” and planning our June visit to our partner-church in Clemson, SC. Bromleigh also spent some time speaking with the Rev. Alexis Carter Thomas, the Vinery program director, for a piece recently published in Faith and Leadership, a publication of Duke Divinity School. The Vinery process is not about recruiting students to participate in the life of a congregation, but rather about deep listening to the gifts and passions of the congregation itself, and the needs of the students, faculty, staff, administrators and alumni of our neighboring campus communities.
