Women’s Retreat

We want to extend a special invitation to register for this year’s Women’s Retreat, this Saturday, March 13, from 1-5:30pm on zoom, with options for evening activities. CLICK HERE to register.

All of the details are available in the registration form and below. The schedule follows, then workshop and evening activity options. There is an intentional 15 minute break between each section. Our home group time will follow our beloved retreat format, with the opportunity to connect with about 5 other UCG women, with a home group leader for each small group.

*If you have already registered for the retreat, Trish Gregory’s Workshop “Renourish,” a Diet Reset, may have been left off of your form. The description is below. If you wish to change your workshop choice, please email Helda Montero at: hmontero@bellsouth.net. If you have not registered, all workshop options will be listed in the registration form.

1-1:20: Opening and Zoom Group Photo
1:20-2:00pm: Home Groups
2:15-3:45: Workshop Time
4:00-4:30: Home Groups

*Workshop Choices:

RECREATE: Join Heidi Stein for a workshop where she will lead you through a creation experience to visually explore the resetting and reemerging required to exist these days. This workshop is appropriate and accessible for all skill levels. We will used mixed media supplies including collage, pencil sketching, and water color to create a visual image celebrating our ability to reset and reemerge. (Supplies will be available for pick-up or delivery)

REFOCUS: Sandy Reimer leads participants through the ancient practice of lament, of voicing our deepest griefs, anger and frustration, and then through the process of knitting ourselves together again through meditation.

REWRITE: Join Bromleigh McCleneghan for a time of discernment through guided reflection and journaling. Discernment is the work of opening oneself to spiritual insight, wisdom and direction.

RENOURISH: with Trish Gregory. As we begin to tentatively reemerge from our Covid cocoon, some of us will need a “diet reset” to feel our very best. What adjustment does your diet need? A small change can improve your health and also note that food is the ultimate mood adjuster (as shown in some of my favorite food movies, The Big Night, Babette’s Feast, or Eat Drink Man Woman. We will spend the first half of this session finding a specific goal and the second cooking a soup together ( or watching). The goal of both cooking and eating our soup will be to bring a smile to our lips and our bellies (and to the lips and bellies of those who share this soup). For the recipe and it’s ingredients click here.

*Social Time Options:

-Game Night: Join Talia in a game of Scattergories! Scattergories is a word game. Each round, a list with categories like actors, colors, or things you find in a zoo will be shared on the screen. You will write an answer to each that starts with a designated letter. You get a point for each original answer. Come play, laugh, and test the creativity of your vocabulary!

-Happy Hour with Shanna Johnson: come hang out and connect with your fellow UCG women.

-Mediation with Ann Gill: Join Ann Gill for a time of centering and guided meditation to close your day.

We hope to see you at Women’s Retreat this Saturday!
