It is truly an honor and a privilege to join the staff at UCG as your Executive Director. It is truly one of life’s twists and turns that I never could have predicted! This is a new position in UCG’s organizational structure, one of several staffing configurations we’ve had over the year. For as much as I know about UCG after 15 years of membership and several leadership positions, there is a whole lot I don’t know about the day to day flow of the office. I will officially start Tuesday, May 5 and look forward to working alongside our existing team. I plan to prepare a short presentation for the congregational meeting to explain more about my new role and plans for how I envision settling in. I thank you all in advance for your patience as we settle into a new work flow! In the meantime, please say “hi” if you’re in the office, or reach out if you have a question/comment for me.
And now for a few random facts about me you may/may not know:
1. I am a licensed occupational therapist and have my clinical doctorate in OT. The picture is from our family celebration of my graduation last May. Mickey Mouse hooded me!
2. My favorite shows I can watch over and over again are “I Love Lucy”, “The Golden Girls”, “Miranda”, and “Kimmy Schmidt”.
3. I have 50+ Christmas inflatables and put up a big display every year, usually right after Halloween.
4. I am a Member in Discernment, pursuing a future career in ministry. Right now, I’m taking classes through Pathways Theological Education. Feel free to quiz me on my latest learnings. 🙂
5. I am married to Brandon (tall guy, can’t miss him!). We have two teens – Elise (15) who works in United Kids and Johan (13). We have a 6 year old rescue named Maggie (and I am her favorite person in the world).
I look forward to getting to you all even better in my new role.
