Sunday Seminar Committee is pleased to announce the line-up of seminars for October. Seminars are in person and on Zoom on Sundays at 11:30 a.m.

November 8 – No scheduled seminar, join at the carnival in the courtyard!

November 15 – No scheduled seminar, join at Church on the Prairie.

November 22 – Rukmini Poddar will present GRATITUDE AND GRIEF: A HEART BIG ENOUGH FOR BOTH

What we discover when we draw our feelings by Rukmini Poddar. Thanksgiving invites us to practice gratitude, but it is not always easy. What if the path to deeper gratitude runs through acknowledging our grief and hard emotions too? Rukmini Poddar, author of Draw Your Feelings, will lead a direct experience of drawing our feelings to help us hold space for it all and expand our capacity to appreciate. No art experience needed. You will walk away with a deeper sense of presence and, hopefully, a closer connection to your own heart and gratitude.

November 29 – “How to Read a Stained-Glass Window” with Rev. Dr. Talia Raymond

On the first Sunday of Advent – Rev. Dr. Talia Raymond will speak about how to read a stained-glass window. By examining some of the windows in France in the ancient Chartres Cathedral, we will learn how to read a medieval stained- glass window, which served as the books of faith for most people at the time since many were illiterate. We will consider the use of art to teach and inspire and think about our own use of art to tell our UCG story.
